Naturally, as an animal lover, I can’t stand seeing animals in distress. I feel privileged that I can use my skills as a photographer to help in some way towards giving animals that have been rescued from awful and often traumatic situations a better life.
I currently volunteer as an adoption photographer for K9 Rescue and Rehoming and Cat Rescue Christchurch. I truly believe that one picture can save an animals life; A good photograph filled with personality of an animal available for adoption usually leads to them finding homes much faster. Especially in a day where shopping for everything, including out pets, is done online so people don’t always get to experience an animal’s personality before they make a decision.
I donate several FURtography session voucher to silent auctions at fundraising events every year and a portion of my own events, like Santa Paws sessions, are donated to charitable organisations. Previous events have helped K9 Rescue, Cat Rescue, Dogwatch, Cats Protection League and more.
If you have bought copies of my books Quake Dogs or Quake Cats, you have also contributed to the welfare of animals in our community, a portion of royalties from Quake Cats is being donated to Cat Help and Cat Rescue while Quake Dogs has helped raise funds for HUHA.
Booking a FURtography session directly helps me to be able to continue supporting these organisations
If you think your charity would benefit from a little FURtography, please get in touch.
