It is my belief that one single image has the power to save a life. In a world where we shop for everything online, including our pets, it is increasingly important for charities to have images of their adoptable animals that are engaging and eye catching. That will stop people scrolling and make them look. I feel honoured that I can use my skills as a photographer to help those in need.
Being an animal lover it is often hard to see and hear of some of the horrific stories some of the animals in shelters have endured. It is my mission to help as many of these lost souls find love and know what it feels like to have a family. I volunteer for several charities locally including K9 Rescue and Rehoming, G.A.P. (Greyhounds As Pets), SPCA Canterbury, Second Chance Dog Rescue, Chihuahua Rescue New Zealand,Cat Rescue and Cats Protection League.
I donate several Furtography session vouchers to silent auctions at fundraising events every year and a portion of my own events, like Santa Paws sessions, are donated to charitable organisations. Previous events have helped K9 Rescue, Cat Rescue, Dogwatch, Cats Protection League and more.
If you have bought copies of my books Quake Dogs or Quake Cats, you have also contributed to the welfare of animals in our community, a portion of royalties from Quake Cats is being donated to Cat Help and Cat Rescue while Quake Dogs has helped raise funds for HUHA. At the time of writing this is almost $30,000.
Booking a Furtography session directly helps me to be able to continue supporting these organisations.
If you think your charity would benefit from a little Furtography, please get in touch. I’m always happy to help wherever possible.
